The Academy is mandated to work for the cause of conservation, development, management and sustainable use of soil, land, water and associated resources of plants and animals. It is an association of conservationists, scientists, professionals, researchers, students, farmers and all those who pledge to work for the wise use of the precious finite and limited natural resources. The Academy mainly focuses towards the welfare of farmers and the rural people whose livelihood security is associated with the natural resources. The Academy is a non-profit professional organization and its members shall work for the welfare of the society.

The Academy organizes Seminars, Symposia, Conferences, Meeting etc. to enable members of ANRCM and other professionals to interact and disseminate knowledge on Natural Resources. These Conferences, Symposium and extraordinary meets would facilitate to promote awareness about conservation of soil, water and other associated natural resources, biodiversity and ecology, and serve to introduce several new and useful trends in Conservation and Management of natural resources. Technical lectures and Memorial lectures shall also be organized.

Journal of Natural Resource Conservation and Management is the periodical brought out bi-annually. Also Newsletter highlighting the activities of ANRCM are published bi-annually. Bulletins, books and study material covering all aspects of soil, water, plant, forests, etc under the broad theme of Natural resources are in the mandate of the Academy.

The Academy also supports students and young professionals to undertake research and similar activities in the field for conservation and management of precious natural resources. The Academy also acknowledges its members and professionals for their significant contribution in the form of Awards.

The Academy shall undertake technical consultancy works and projects including monitoring & evaluation studies from Central/State Govts/PSU/NGOs etc in the field of sustainable agriculture, rural development, environmental conservation, watershed management and management of natural resources.
